The problem

The NFL is a great league in a terrible timezone

Being an NFL fan in Europe means choosing between sleep and football. The early games are dinnertime, the late window runs past midnight, and the marquee matchups — Sunday, Monday and Thursday night — kick off when your alarm is already set.

Highlights are scattered, spoilers are everywhere, and American recaps assume you watched. You didn't. You were asleep — like a normal person in this hemisphere.

The fix

In every Monday issue

Every result, with the story

Not just scores — one tight paragraph per game that matters: what happened, why, and whether it changes anything.

The three things that actually mattered

The plays, decisions and meltdowns everyone will be arguing about — so you're never lost in the group chat.

Injuries & fallout

Who got hurt, how long they're out, and what it means for next week — including your fantasy team.

The table, minus the noise

Standings and playoff picture, updated weekly, with the one line of context that makes them make sense.

What to watch next weekend — in your timezone

The two or three games worth staying up for, with UK and CET kickoff times and where they're on: Sky Sports, RTL, DAZN Game Pass.

What Monday morning looks like

The Late Window Week 3 · Monday 07:00

Buffalo turned the lights out late

Bills 31 – 17 Dolphins · final 03:58 GMT

Miami led at half, then Buffalo scored on five straight possessions while you were — sensibly — unconscious. The Dolphins' tackling collapsed the moment the rain arrived, and the AFC East race already looks like a one-team story.

The call everyone's arguing about

A fourth-and-two conversion attempt from a team's own 34, down three, with 2:04 left. It failed. Your American colleagues have opinions. Here's the 40-second version so you can have one too.

Next weekend, stay up for: Cowboys–Eagles, Sunday 21:25 GMT / 22:25 CET — Sky Sports NFL & RTL. Worth the Monday tiredness.

Questions

FAQ

When exactly does it arrive?

Monday 07:00 UK time, 08:00 in Germany and most of Europe — before the spoilers find you. During playoff weeks we add a Tuesday morning edition for Monday night games.

I'm fairly new to the NFL. Is this for me?

Especially for you. We don't assume you've watched, and we explain the jargon the first time it appears. If you got into the NFL through the London or Berlin games, you're exactly who we write for.

Does it spoil the games I recorded?

Yes — this is a results digest, scores up front. If you're planning to watch a replay unspoiled, save Monday's email for afterwards.

Is it in German?

English only for now. If enough German readers sign up, a German edition is first on the list — tell us when you subscribe.

Sleep through the games.
